Cost of Certification

The cost of certification is very small as a proportion of the cost of yarn.

The chart below identifies certification as 1.2% assuming a yarn cost of US $33.00 kg.

The cost of certification as a % of yarn price will of course vary on the final cost of yarn which in turn is driven by the cost of greasy wool. However, we have monitored this over the last few years and it has varied between 1.2% and 1.7%

Assuming approximately 300 grams of wool in a sweater, the cost of certification for the garment would be approx US 12 cents.
